World Test Championship Latest Updates & Points table

The Indian cricket team has held the 4th position in the World Test Championship. At  Wanderers, Johannesburg, India lost the 2nd test against South Africa. But it doesn’t affect the position of the Indian team in the ranking. On the other hand, South Africa successfully scaled to the 5th spot in the points table. They already won the second test against India in the WTC 2021-23 with seven wickets. 

South Africa’s Jump

Possibly, the African team jumped from 8th position to 5th position after their win against India in the second test. Till now, the African team has won 1 match and lost 1 match in the World Test Championship 2021-23. They hold the 5th position having a winning percentage of 50% and 12 points after they beat the Indian team.

World Test Championship Point table

Right now, Australia is leading the WTC point table 2021-23 with 36 points and a 100% winning percentage. Till now, they have won all 3 matches of 2021-22 against England.

After Australia, Sri Lanka placed in 2nd position with 24 points and a 100% winning percentage. Then after Sri Lanka, the 3rd position is held by Pakistan in the points table with 36 points and a 75% winning percentage.

Then it comes to Bangladesh who follows the points table at 6th position with 12 points and a 33.33% winning percentage. On the other hand, West Indies, New Zealand, and England are in the 7th, 8th, and 9th position respectively in the points table of WTC 2021-23.

Till now, England has played 6 matches in the championship and has won only 1 match but they also lost 5 matches in the championship. 

England is in the last position on the table, with 5 points and a 07.14% winning percentage. 

For India, it is still a chance to improve their points in the WTC 2021-23 but they have to win the 3rd test match against South Africa. As advice for the Indian team, they should take care of their slow over rates to secure their points.
