Bollywood is famous worldwide, people from other countries also love to dance to Bollywood songs. Since 1913, Bollywood has been giving a number of stories based on numerous subjects.

Here is the list of the top 5 Bollywood sports movies which inspired us, told us the story behind every successful player, taught us, and changed our thoughts about sports. 

Dangal (2016)- The film is based on biographical of former Wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat, who couldn’t bring gold for the nation, and his dream remind a dream until he thought to train his daughters Geeta Phogat and Babita Phogat who played very well in all the competition and presented India In International competition. 

This movie is a perfect example for proving that girls are not less than boys. 

The movie is directed by Nitesh Tiwari and his team. The main role is played by Amir Khan with other actors Sakshi Tanwar, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Sanya Malhotra, Zaira Wasim, Suhani Bhatnagar, and Aparshakti Khurana.  

Mary Kom (2014)- The movie is based on the biography of a common Manipur girl who became India’s first woman boxing champion. Till now she won six world championships and became India’s first woman to qualify in the Summer Olympics of 2012. She fought very hard with her family and faced many challenges to fulfill her passion. She was trained by her coach Narijit Singh.

The movie is directed by Omung Kumar and the lead role was played by Priyanka Chopra who trained herself for the role. 

M.S. Dhoni (2016)- A film based on a biopic of our beloved Indian cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni. The movie shows the journey of Dhoni from birth to his fabulous victory at the 2011 World Cup. At first, Dhoni loved to play football but when his school coach asked him to play cricket, he started loving the game and followed his passion. 

The film is directed by Neeraj Pandey and his team. Neeraj’s team has shortlisted many names for the lead role but in the end, they finalized Late actor Sushant Singh Rajput. Disha Patani and Kiara Advani also played roles in the movie. 

Bhaag Milkha Bhaag (2013)- The script is about the biopic of Milkha Singh, who was the eyewitness to the massacre of 1947 (Partition of India). From there he started running and became “The Flying Sikh.” He has won many international competitions and broken all the old records and made a new one. 

The film is directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and the lead role is played by Farhan Akhtar. Milkha Singh took only a rupee to give film rights. 

Iqbal (2005)- It is an amazing and inspiring movie about a deaf and dumb boy Iqbal. It is the true story of Yashwant Prabhakar. His father wants him to stop daydreaming about cricket and start working on the field but he never gives up. 

But destiny had another plan for him, he achieved his dream when he met a man named Mohit who supported him in achieving the dream. He succeeded in his dream and made his place in the Ranji Trophy team of Andhra Pradesh. 

The movie is directed by Nagesh Kukunoor and gives a debut chance to Shreyas Talpade. The film received the National Film Award for Best Film on Other Social Issues.
