On Saturday, Delhi Court sent two-time olympian wrestler Sushil Kumar to police custody for four days. Delhi Police Crime Branch is searching for three more people who was involving in Sagar Dhankar murder case. A senior officer of Delhi Police said that police have arrested nine people to date.
On Friday, Delhi Police arrested two wrestlers in connection with the case, Rohit and Vijender. Wrestler Sushil Kumar was arrested in Delhi on May 23 when he was found running for 18 days since May 4. He was involving in the murder case of Sagar Dhankar at Chhatrasal Stadium. Dhankar was thrashed allegedly by many people in Chhatrasal Stadium over a minor argument. He later succumbed due to severe injuries.
On Thursday evening, Delice Police Crime Branch sleuths had arrested and taken Sushil Kumar to Chandigarh and Haryana. Also question about the stay and places where he was during his run and tried to know about the persons who helped him to get the shelter.
During his questioning, Sushil Kumar reportedly shared many names. He was quietly arrested and taken to Haryana and Chandigarh, then returned to the national capital Delhi on Friday morning.
Based on revelations given by Olympian Sushil Kumar, crime branch sources said that Delhi police is looking for Vinod Pradhan, Praveen A.K.A. Choti, and Pradeep A.K.A. Bablu for their involvement in the murder case. Sources also said that all these three suspects were present at Chhatrasal Stadium during the incident. A double-barrel gun was also recovered by Delhi Police.
He said that the recovered double-barrel gun belonged to Pradhan. Crime branch sources said that these three involved people belonged to the Jhajjar district of Haryana. Police are collecting information and facts about their whereabouts. Several people who belonged to Kala Asauda and Neeraj Bawana gangs were also arrested by police for the involvement in the murder of Dhankar.
Earlier, a non-bailable warrant (NBW) against Sushil Kumar has been issued by a Delhi court. Delhi Police also issued a lookout notice for wrestler Sushil Kumar who won a silver in the 2012 London Olympic Games and a bronze medal in the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. The source also said that a friend of Sushil Kumar named Prince who shot the video of the thrashing of Dhankar in the Stadium has turned a witness proof in the case.
