The assistant coach of the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) franchise, Simon Katich has resigned from his post onwards the 15th auction session of the IPL 2022. Although, there was no specific reason that can prove why Katich has left his post, but one of the internal sources state that Katich was unhappy with the strategies followed by the ‘Orange Army’ in the 2022 IPL auction. It seems that there is a huge disagreement over the strategy of the auction. However, he has also said to have been irritated with the way how the franchise is managing their decisions during the auction.
Katich had also signified various points of his disappointment. One of them is refusing to re-sign David Warner by the Franchisee team of SRH.
In IPL 2021, the Sunrises Hyderabad experienced a worse experience as the Orange Army won just 3 out of the 14 matches and finished at the last point that they played in the entire tournament.
Also, we can see the way the franchisee how they treated David Warner during the competition. Warner was one of the best captains of the team midway through the tournament but left the tournament for some reason.
In the IPL 2022 mega auction, to procure the service of Nicholas Pooran, the SRH outfit spent a sum of INR 10.75 Crore. SRH also spent INR 8.75 Crore to buy off-spinner Washington Sundar. The ‘Orange Army’ also bought Romario Shepherd, T Natarajan, Aiden Markram, Marco Jansen, Sean Abbott etc, but they left Warner from the team.
