On Sunday evening at the ‘Brabourne Stadium’ Mumbai, Punjab Kings defeated the Chennai Super Kings by 54 runs and seeking their first win of this season. Chennai Super Kings got a disastrous start by losing four wickets during powerplay against the Punjab Kings.
First, the Chennai Super Kings won the toss and were elected to bowl against the Punjab Kings. CSK made one change to their playing XI as Chris Jordan came in place of Tushar Deshpande while the player Jonny Bairstow missed out for the Punjab Kings. They made two changes but both of them are Indian players.
Rayudu was departed after scoring 13, leaving the Chennai Super Kings tottering at 38 for five. However, the player “Shivam Dube” scored a fifty before the defending champions, get bowled out on 126. Liam Livingstone scored 60 off 32 balls, while Shikhar Dhawan was able to get 33 and Jitesh Sharma 26 chipped with useful contributions to help Punjab to reach the score of 180 for 8 in 20 overs. As for CSK, Chris Jordon was able to score 23 in 2 overs, Mukesh Choudhary 1/52, Dwayne Bravo 1/32, Ravindra Jadeja 1/34, and Dwaine Pretorius 2/30 were among the wickets. CSK were able to give away only 71 runs with a lot of credits going towards their overseas pacers — Pretorius, Bravo, and Jordan.
