On Tuesday, Minister of sports and youth affairs Narayana Gowda said that the next edition of the Khelo India Games will be held in Karnataka.
Khelo India is a resource taken by the government to ameliorate the level of sport in the country. This program will ameliorate the level of sport from the grassroots level.
After the initiation of the 81st All India-University Athletics Championship the minister said, “The government is committed to promoting sports in Karnataka. In all the departments, 2% of job opportunities will be given to sportspersons and they will get 50% of reservation in the departments related to sports”.
Umanath Kotian, received the torch while the Vice-Chancellor of Mangalore University led the inaugural program of the championship.

Awards- Khelo India
For creating the new records in 10,000 the players, Adesh Yadav was awarded Rs 25,000; Arif Ali Rs 15,000; and Ram Vinod Yadav Rs 10,000.
The player Adesh also set a record at the freshly managed 41st Mangalore University Inter-Collegiate athletics meet. In 30:09:6, he set the record for a 10,000-meter race.
This time, Alva’s Education Foundation offered the award prize for the winners.
M R Poovamma (Olympian) was congratulated on the occasion.
A host of 150 groups represented the various cultures of India at 81st All India Inter-University Athletics.
This championship was organized by Mangalore University and Alva’s College.
