DAY 7 OF BWF BADMINTON WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP

Now the championship is moved to the medal stages with two Indians. Today, they both are going to compete with each other in the first semi-final.  

Yesterday, in women’s singles,  champion PV Sindhu was banged out in the quarters after Tai Tzu-ying of Taiwan beat the Indian in three straight games. 

This time, the match between Kidambi and Lakshya will ensure a first Indian men’s participation in the final of the BWF World Championship.

In the Kidambi quarter-final on Friday, he broke a sweat and defeated The Netherlands’ Mark Caljouw in straight games (21-8 21-7) in 26 minutes. However, Lakshya had to fight with Chinese Zhao Jun Peng.
